I finally got to play during the break with the Yesterday Swing Orchestra a big band that I run sound for out of Winchester, VA. I didn’t have a lot of time to play but I managed to fit three songs in. I got a little distracted at the end of the last tune as folks from the band were asking me questions as they were getting ready to start back up. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to being able to do it some more in the future. Here is a recording of my performance:

To be perfectly honest, this was never one of my favorites. I am a part time sound engineer for a big band and they do this and I have grown to like it. Now I can say with almost certainty, that this is one of my favorite recordings. I felt a great amount of creative freedom on this one.

OK, this is a re-recording of Moonlight In Vermont. I recorded it last March. I think a year has brought this tune to a new level for me with more expression.

This has always been one of my favorite tunes. I tried learning to play it over 20 years ago when I was first learning to play. I never got beyond the intro as I was trying to play it as written. It is probably the hardest song I have recorded and I am thrilled to death that I have been able to do what I have with it. It is far from perfect and since it is all instrumental, I have shortened it down to just under four minutes. It gets to be a bit repetitive otherwise.
